Our client – a local group is looking to recruit a Director of Audit (reporting to the CEO) in their Head Office (Holding entity) in Bahrain.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Responsible for leading the overall direction and leadership of the internal audit function for the organization and responsible for planning and conducting operational, financial and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and organizational risk.
• The position is responsible for ensuring Internal Audit is closely aligned with industry best practices in executing the duties across the Companies business and financial operations.
• Developing, executing and successfully managing internal audit plans and risk assessments.
• Planning, executing, reporting and successfully managing audits including assessing risks, identifying findings and providing insightful and value-added recommendations.
• Reviewing and reporting on compliance with internal control policies and requirements.
• Providing advisory services and investigations.
• Responsible for effective communication and education of the internal control policies.
• Recruiting and successfully managing a team of internal audit professionals.
• Provide support to the business to ensure consistency with accounting policies.
• Liaise with external auditors to provide support for internal controls and assessments and to discuss any internal audit issues.
