Head of Corporate Banking - Dubai & Northern Emirates

Key Responsibilities will include:

Primary responsibilities of this position include:

Strategy and Plans:

  • In conjunction with, and as required by the Chief Officer of the Group, contribute to the formulation, implementation and delivery of the Group’s strategy in line with the  bank s  vision, mission, values and priorities
  • Translate the strategy into operational business plans for the short, medium and long term within the department(s) and ensure that performance is monitored, reported and delivered and necessary actions are taken to achieve the strategy and plans
  • Consider break out strategy within scope of business and influence product strategy in line with client / market requirements

Leadership:

  • Manage employees and teams (including virtual internal teams related to marketing of group-wide products, risk management etc.) by overseeing their performance management, recruitment, learning and development to ensure high levels of engagement, and competence, a motivated work environment and to maximise employee contribution to business performance

Revenue Generation:

  • Lead and manage sales to expand customer base, increase market share, improve cross-selling and increase profitability in order to generate revenue and ensure achievement of the set budget and strategy
  • Provide the required support and assistance to the team (Heads, Relationship Managers and support staff) in terms of marketing efforts and visits to large corporate clients to support initiation of sales deals
  • Structure, oversee and run internal (to WBG) and inter-departmental revenue management and cross-sell forums and MIS in order to maximise revenues

Business Development and Customer Relations:

  • Oversee the development of products and services in the assigned regions in order to exploit market opportunities, differentiate the  bank s  offering and meet/fit customer needs
  • Ensure that opportunities for cross selling in the assigned region are identified and followed through by the team to maximise sales
  • Review material, customer complaints, escalated by the team and follow up on their resolution to achieve customer satisfaction

Relationship Management:

  • Manage and build key relationships with WBG internal and external customers in order to understand customer expectations and ensure that these relationships continuously serve the subsidiary’s best interests and support the achievement of its strategy
  • Manage cross-border coverage activity including liaising with Representative Offices overseas to drive parental engagement within legal and regulatory constraints
  • Ensure that partnerships are successfully built, maintained and leveraged with other revenue-generating and support functions within the bank to maximise relationship value, wallet and adhesion of relationships

Financial:

  • Recommend and manage the budget for the business area and monitor financial performance so that the business is aware of anticipated costs and revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance and improvement opportunities are identified and addressed to ensure the budget is managed in line with requirements
  • Manage asset stock and mix including loan sell-down from business side, liability stock / mix, revenue including NII / NFI mix, cost of risk and pricing management, generate acceptable financial returns at the client level (RAROC) in order to ensure the financial plans are managed properly.
Who we're looking for:

We are looking for a candidate to lead and manage the bank's Wholesale Banking function for assigned area including overseeing the origination, managing and booking of risk, providing transactional and client services, credit monitoring and control and establishing and achieving top to bottom profit and loss and balance sheet stock targets in line with overall strategic direction of the bank.
